Repaired the way it was made
Every repair is worked by hand with a needle and matched yarn — the same methods that built the rug. Nothing is glued, taped, or farmed out to an outside workroom.
A frayed fringe or a small hole doesn’t mean the rug is done for. We rebuild rugs by hand at our own Cooper City plant — the same place they’re washed — so the fix follows the weave instead of hiding it.
Small now, or big later
A rug comes apart from its edges inward. The knots at the very end are held in place by the fringe and the side cords; once those let go, the pile beside them has nothing to anchor it and starts marching off the rug a row at a time.
Caught early, a loosening fringe or a fraying side is a quick, contained fix. Left through another season of traffic in a busy Cooper City household, that same edge turns into lost knots that have to be rewoven — far more labor, and far more cost.
The least costly repair is almost always the one you deal with soonest.
So when we spot early wear during a cleaning inspection, we point it out — not to pad the bill, but because a stitch today saves a reweave tomorrow.

Done in-house
The fringe isn’t decoration — it’s the warp of the foundation poking out at the ends. We anchor a fringe that’s working loose, or rebuild one that’s already gone, so the last rows of knots stay tied down where they should be.
The side cords absorb the punishment from vacuums and furniture legs. We re-wrap and re-secure worn edges by hand before the pile beside them starts to unravel.
A hole, tear or burn is rebuilt one knot at a time in wool matched to the original, tracking the existing pattern so the mend disappears into the design instead of sitting on top of it.
Moths feed on wool from the back, out of sight. We treat the infestation, then reweave the grazed and eaten areas back to full, even pile.
A rug left damp on tile can rot at the foundation until it cracks — a real risk in our humidity. We gauge how far it has spread and rebuild the sound sections still worth saving.
A rug can be carefully shortened or narrowed to suit a room, and a tired antique brought back through full restoration — always weighed against what the rug is worth.
Keep it off the bench
A few small habits do most of the work. Rotate the rug a couple of times a year so one path doesn’t soak up all the wear, and use a proper pad underneath — it stops the rug sliding and cushions the foundation against the hard tile most Cooper City homes are built on.
Keep it dry: blot spills quickly and never leave a soaked rug sitting, because in our climate lingering damp becomes rot and mildew. And vacuum gently, keeping the beater bar off the fringe, which is where the unraveling usually begins.
The honest part
Yes — straight out. Some rugs are worth many times what any repair would run; others are worth less than the hours a proper fix demands. We’ll tell you which side yours falls on before you spend a cent.
A good repair shop tells you when to leave a rug alone, not only when to work on it.
